This Week:

The framers installed plywood and Tyvek on the walls.

They also worked on shear walls and shear wall hardware, as well as the clearstory wall framing.

Upcoming:

The framers will continue on the clearstory, and set trusses next week.

Once trusses are installed, the framers will install rafter tail extensions and framed overbuilds for the roof.

Roof decking will follow.

The framers continued working on the upper-level walls.

Upcoming:

The framers will install sheathing and Tyvek on the exterior and work on the shear plywood and hardware.

The roof trusses will be delivered late next week.

Hurricane Helene Impact Update:

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while we used our time and energy last week to put ourselves back together.

While it will be some time before we are fully recovered, crews have returned to projects, and the work continues. Unfortunately, some of our subcontractors and vendors have experienced catastrophic losses. We are still in the discovery phase and working hard to understand the true impact of project schedules and budgets. We are working with these folks closely and respectfully to understand the impact on projects. As a brief example, one of our commercial window and door manufacturers has reported that their entire facility was washed down the French Broad River, which held recently manufactured windows and doors for the Boys and Girls Club of Transylvania County project currently under construction.

We are anticipating some impact to the materials market due to scarcity and availability. We have seen some diversion of materials that physically can’t be delivered to our area due to road closures. Those vendors are working hard to source alternate routes and get materials we have already purchased to us. The full impact of this storm and the one that hit Florida won't be fully realized until the next few weeks.

We will continue to be in touch through our weekly updates and will schedule meetings with you if we determine that your project schedules or budget will be heavily impacted.

The framers completed the lower-level walls, installed the floor trusses and sub-floor for the main floor, and began laying out the main-level walls.

Upcoming:

The main-level walls will be the focus for the next couple of weeks.

The framers continued framing on Tuesday after the storm. They finished the lower-level walls and installed sheathing and Tyvek on those walls.

Upcoming:

The framers will set the main-floor trusses and start on the subfloor decking.
